This picture was a gift for my daughter, who was 9 years old at the time. It is full of symbology, from her mixed New Zealand and Swedish heritage, her pets, musical instruments and star signs. Her name is spelled out in Nordic runes on the shields along the boats gunwale and in text on the sail, the Capricorn constellation can be seen near the moon, and her pet rabbit and turtles are featured. It is all watercolor (no white paint at all) , on 44″ x 33″ Fabrano 300 lb rough paper.
