“Voyage Of The Harmonica”, Original Watercolor 43″ x 29.5″ on Fabriano Artistico 300 lb Rough

A large-format watercolor, depicting a Viking ship, crewed by anthropomorphic, instrument playing animals, and adorned with Symbols relevant to my daughter Nathalie. The shields on the side of the boat spell out “NATHALIE” in runic script, and NATHALIE LOCKYER is spelled out atop the mainsail. Flags of Sweden and New Zealand denote her parents, while the US flag is represented in the mainsail. The constellation of Capricorn is displayed in the evening sky, top left, and her pet rabbit, Pinnochio, and her two red-eared slider turtles, Franklin and Scalman, named for American and Swedish cartoon characters are also present. The hedgehog is a regular visitor in her Grandmother’s Garden, in southern Sweden.
